Lenovo launches 5-incher Vibe X for Rs 25,999 in India

Chinese handset maker Lenovo has launched another large-size smartphone Vibe X for Rs 25,999 in Indian market after two months of its global launch at IFA

The smartphone features a full HD 5-inch screen and runs on Android 2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589T processor.

It boasts of a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera and comes with a 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. Connectivity options include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0. It packs a 2,000mAh battery and comes in black and silver colour combination.

It measures of 6.9mm, and weighs only 120 gram which makes it lighter than most top-end devices and slimmer than iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S4.

Micromax, MTS launch smartphone Canvas Blaze for Rs 10,999

India's largest home-grown mobile phone maker Micromax said Wednesday that it will introduce a range of co-developed smartphones to provide high-speed data services together with Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd that offers mobile phone services under the MTS brand.The duo launched Canvas Blaze 3G Android smartphone with 5-inch touchscreen, 8 mega pixel rear camera and dual sim, priced at Rs 10,999 on Tuesday.Canvas Blaze comes with introductory offer of free data and voice benefits for six months to its consumers.'This smartphone will help consumers enjoy the 3G EVDO network of MTS while retaining their GSM number. Supported by strong distribution channel and retail presence of both the companies, out aim is to catalyze the mobile internet penetration in the country,' said Micromax co-founder Vikas Jain.

Asus Fonepad 7

Asus Fonepad 7, a device which blurs the lines between a phone and tablet by giving you a tablet-sized display, but the ability to make phone calls. Basically, the new Asus Fonepad is a 7-inch Android tablet with full voice telephony, a faster processor and a better camera, among other things.

At Rs 17,499, the Fonepad 7 is an affordable device with a 7-inch 1,280 x 800-pixel LED screen and 1.6 GHz Intel Atom dual-core processor. The screen is a definite advantage since it has wider viewing angles making for a much more pleasant viewing.

Nokia launches Asha 500, 502, 503 phones

Nokia announced upgraded versions of its Asha range of mobile phones, some of the last products it developed before deciding to sell its handset business to Microsoft.

Three new Asha models were unveiled at the annual Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi.

Nokia Asha 500 comes both in single and dual-sim variants. The smartphone sports a 2.8-inch screen and 2MP camera. The phone will ship for $69 in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and Middle East.

Apple iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display

Apple took design cues from its smaller iPad mini and made the larger format tablet thinner and lighter, renaming it iPad Air. It also revamped the iPad mini with Retina display.

The new iPads have a number of small internal improvements which were seen in the recently launched iPhone 5S.

Aqua HD and Aqua i4 smartphones by Intex launched in India

Intex has expanded its Aqua smartphone portfolio and announced two new devices, the Aqua HD and Aqua i4 for the Indian market. The Intex Aqua HD comes for Rs. 15,900 (MRP) while the Intex Aqua i4 comes for Rs. 9,490.

The Intex Aqua HD comes with a 4.7-inch HD (720x1280pixels) TFT display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor alongside 1GB of RAM. It comes with 4GB built-in storage, which can be expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. A dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) phone, the Intex Aqua HD runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and can be upgraded through OTA (over the air), claims the company.

It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera along with an LED flash and can record 1080p videos. It also sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ aGPS and 3G. The phone has an 1800mAh battery which can deliver up to 5 hours of talktime and 300 hours of standby time. The Intex Aqua HD features a number of sensors that include an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, light sensor and gyroscope.

Nokia Lumia 1020 Launch in Singapore on Oct 5 2013

Following last week's launch of the Nokia Lumia 1020 in Malaysia, the handset maker's flagship Windows Phone 8 device will debut in Singapore on October 5. Loyal fans who have been waiting for a long time since the smartphone's announcement in July will be able to purchase the Lumia 1020 for S$999, bundled with the Camera Grip accessory that's worth S$98. The smartphone will also be available from the three Singapore mobile operators with subsidized prices on contract.

Aside from Malaysia and Singapore, the Lumia 1020 will also be launched in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam soon, starting in October. Look out for local announcements if you are from one of those countries for pricing and bundles.

Blackberry 9720 with QWERTY keypad for Rs 16,000

Struggling Canadian handset manufacturer BlackBerry (previously Research in Motion or RIM) has added yet another touch and type smartphone to its portfolio. The latest addition, called 9720 has been targeted at the mid-price range segment of the Indian smartphone market, and will be available for Rs 16,000 later this month. A successor to the popular Curve 9320, this one offers a touch-and-type user interface, although instead of the latest BB10 operating system, the smartphone runs on the outdated BB 7.1 OS. Nokia 515 unveiled

Nokia has launched the Nokia 515 to expand its feature phone portfolio. The newly launched feature phone will be available in single and Easy Swap dual-SIM variants.

The Nokia 515 body is built from a single piece of anodised, sandblasted aluminium while the display features the scratch resistant Gorilla Glass 2 and is polarised for use under the sun. It features a 2.4-inch QVGA display with 240x320 pixels and boasts a pixel density of 166ppi. The phone runs on Nokia's Series 40 software and includes 64MB of RAM. It measures 114x48x11mm and weighs 101.1grams for single SIM and 102.7 grams for dual-SIM variant.

Nokia 515 includes 256MB of internal memory which can be expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and the camera includes options like voice-guided self-portrait for taking self-shots with the rear camera, Sequential shots and Panorama. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS, Micro-USB and 3G, while there is no Wi-Fi in the device. The Nokia 515 supports Micro-SIM instead of regular SIM.

Micromax launches Canvas Doodle 2 A240 for INR 19,990
